This is a top that was two years in the making. It started out with me being given a two small strips of vintage fabric that had beaded flower and sequins on it. I loved them and was just starting to get back into my sewing journey so I saved them. Fast forward two years and I started doing pyrography, where you use a hot tool to burn designs into wood and other objects. I was experimenting with burning leather and one night played around with burning the edges of leather that I had cut into circles. I eventually sewed those circles with some beads among the vintage beaded flowers on those strips I had been given. This top looks simple, but because of the pieces of my life that had to come togther over several years, this is a piece that can not be recreated; copied maybe, but not recreated. It is an original and when you wear it, if you do , know that it has been imbued with good energy, with the fabrics, and leather being sourced from a real art studio where artists create, laugh, cry and put their ideas out into the world. I also tend to sing when I create , so you may feel the urge to break out into song when you wear it. It's ok. This was made with joy, love and gratitude, so if you feel these when you wear it or look at it, know that it was intentional.
