A few years back, I felt a pull to set up my backdrop on Congress Avenue and capture informal portraits of passersby. What began as a way to make money quickly turned into an unforgettable experience. I was nervous at first, as no one else was doing this kind of street portraiture, but as people stopped to ask about my work, they let me photograph them, leading to moments of laughter, connection, and shared humanity. Each portrait tells a story, and when I revisit these images, I’m reminded of the kindness and uniqueness of everyone I met.
